Interprofessional Border Experience

A non-credit-bearing two-day summer border experience for students from all four health sciences schools in Nogales, Arizona and Nogales Sonora. The theme of the activity is Building Healthy Communities: Alternatives to Migration. Students and faculty will visit several programs on both sides of the border that provide models for remaining in home communities including sustainable development projects and micro credit programs.

Profile of Refugee Primary Care Access and Delivery Needs in Pima County

This was a 1 yr assessment of health care system navigation challenges faced by refugees recently resettled to Tucson, and by primary care providers serving this population. It included an interdisciplinary work group The Refugee Primary Care Work Group with academic, health care, resettlement, library and community representatives, a team of students from public health, nursing, and library studies.
