Research

Research at the GHI has no boundaries, it is a worldwide endeavor

The Global Health Institute fosters and supports the primary research mission at the Zuckerman College of Public Health to advance fundamental, translational, and applied research that addresses the health needs of diverse populations and aims to make a profound and measurable impact on the health and wellbeing of communities in the Southwest and worldwide.

Involving and collaborating with community members is a fundamental underpinning in our efforts to improve public health. MEZCOPH faculty, staff and students work collaboratively with others to address obesity, diabetes, women and children health, environmental health, heart disease, cancer, smoking cessation, and issues of particular interest to border, rural, refugee, and tribal communities within the state and around the world.
